The Registry for Equine Diplomate Osteopaths International (REDOI) approves and accredits the institutions offering a prestigious level of education according to the competency profile and standards. Accredited educational institutions are subjected to scrupulous governance and regulatory monitoring by REDOI.

To guarantee the level and quality of education and the devotion to equine osteopathy, the guidelines include:

• A required minimum number of theoretical and practical instructional hours.

• Educators for theoretical hours are required to be DOs or DVMs, and the practical hands-on educators are required to be DO-EDO®s or DVM-EDO®s.

• Content of the curriculum must meet standards, ethics, and rules of procedure.

The Equine Osteopath EDO® quality mark was created to identify distinguished graduates of superior equine osteopathy educational institutions who have maintained registration, upheld the standards and ethics of REDOI, and completed continued educational requirements. 

The global right for awarding, regulating, protecting, and preserving the trademark Equine Osteopath EDO® is entrusted to REDOI, a not-for-profit volunteer-based organization of professional EDO®s for EDO®s established in 2025.

The Equine Osteopath EDO® quality mark represents and guarantees that the practitioner is:

• A graduate of an accredited equine osteopathy educational institution who has successfully completed the two-part Equine Osteopath Competency Examination (EOCE) in front of the international exam committee of REDOI comprised of DO-EDO®, DVM-EDO® and board member EDO®.

• An active registrant in good standing of REDOI who upholds the standards and ethics of the registry. REDOI is the only regulatory body awarded the right to grant use of the Equine Osteopath EDO® quality mark.

• Dedicated to the highest standards of postgraduate education, continuous pursuit of knowledge, advancement of skills, and enhancement of the profession.
